The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment (CCEA) have produced a new resource called ‘Digital for Life and Work’ to support teachers in deciding what aspects of online safety and acceptable online behaviour they may want to teach their pupils. It covers six key areas:

  • Digital Wellbeing and Online Safety is about children knowing how they can keep themselves safe and well while online and using technology.
  • Digital Etiquette and Identity is about children knowing how they can behave appropriately online and deal with the unwanted behaviour of others.
  • Digital Security and Privacy is about children knowing how to keep their information and their money safe.
  • Digital Consumer is about children knowing how they can make informed decisions about spending money online.
  • Digital Law is about children knowing how to respect the law and know their rights.
  • Digital Proficiency is about children knowing how they can navigate a digital world as an independent digital citizen.
